Sweet Blossom: Giveaway and Spring Special

Hello all! long time no type, I do have several finished projects that I am working on getting photos of ( and one of them is even lace!) but for now I have a new pattern finished. Introducing Sweet Blossom, a Ballet Wrap and Legwarmers combination pattern that is just in time for spring! Of course this wrap could be used anytime, and the legwarmers are great for skirt loving little girls with cold legs.

Sweet Blossom is an intermediate to advanced pattern due to an unusual construction which features as little seaming as possible, a neckband that is patterned all the way around the back, and sleeves that are knit sideways using short rows to shape the wrists. The gauge falls somewhere between a thick DK and a thin Worsted, which is a versatile yarn weight and works up quickly for gifting.

The cable pattern has two rows of bobble blossoms that bloom and wind up to the shoulders, then a simple cabled vine around the back of the neck. The bottom band is worked first and then stitches for the main body are picked up and worked from the band creating a seamless join. The second tie band is worked from made stitches on the first band for a strong and flexible seam that will withstand much tugging from little hands.

In honour of Mother's Day I will be giving away a PDF copy of this pattern to a randomly drawn commenter, just leave a comment on this post with a way of contacting you and Hubs the Great will draw a name at 7pm on Mother's Day Sunday May 8th.  Good luck and Happy knitting!

Congratulations to Ruby, poster number 5 and winner of this PDF pattern! Thanks to everyone who commented and remember to get your copy before the 19th!
