Baby Epaulette Sweater

I have a new pattern up on the Knitpick's IDP website! This is the Baby Epaulette sweater, designed using the same gathering technique as the Jellyfish bag just in pint size! A very fast knit with Bulky yarn this is definitely a weekend project.

one ½ inch diameter button, tapestry needle,
sewing needle and thread to match button, stitch marker

GAUGE

14 sts/19 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch

The Baby Epaulette sweater is a sweet little pullover with gathered puff sleeves and a button neckline. Knit from soft cotton this is the perfect spring to summer garment, it can work as a layer for spring and separately in the summer. The sweater is knit in the round all in one piece with grafted sleeves at the back and a knit on collar which opens extra wide for bigger baby noggins. This sweater also has a longer back to waist measurement than most designed for babies and will fit for a longer duration of time since most children grow longer faster than wider.

  1. I purchased this pattern off of Knitpicks and was very excited to try it. I did the cast on for the smallest size and realized that there is no way to join for knitting in the round because the 24" circular needle is too long. What am I doing wrong?!

  2. HI Yvonne, you might have to use a 16 inch needle, or work with the magic loop method. I apologize that the pattern does not suggest these other options and I will update it accordingly, if you have any other questions please feel free to email me at the email indicated in the footer of the pattern, thanks! Meghan
