Petite Panache is a charming jacket worked in chunky weight with areas of texture to emphasize the short color changes in this beautiful hand-dyed yarn. This little gem has an extra large offset collar, and a flared waist for some pint-sized panache. The main body of the jacket is worked in stockinette with seed stitch cuffs, collar and pleats for touches of textures to subtly change the look of the yarn without a busy stitch pattern to compete with the gorgeous colors. Finished off with oversized buttons this is sure to keep your little one cozy and stylish!

Meg it's beautiful! I never saw this one before it went out. Love love love. And that N. Oh we love her so.
ReplyDeleteFirst I just wanna say: "What a cutie petewtie! Gotta love that squinchy face!"
ReplyDeleteAnd this jacket is Ad-ORable. It looks like she's sporting a little mini bustle! You knit so purdy Meg!
Thanks Gals! I think this one is one of my favorites too :)
ReplyDeleteHi! New to your blog and found you via Jimmy Bean. I love this sweater and have a two year old. I am wondering what skill level you would consider this?
ReplyDeleteDarling!
ReplyDeleteHi Cara!, I would consider this an intermediate knit, there are a few tricky parts like the pleating but other than that just stockinette and moss stitch.
ReplyDeleteHi - I just love this pattern and can't wait to start it! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any plans (or time...) to update the pattern for the older kids? My 8 year old would LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteI have had a few requests for that very thing and I think that I'll have time in the new year to accomplish it!
ReplyDeleteYou are ridiculously talented! Now I've officially stalked both your blogs, and I am enamored. Rest assured that I will brag without abandon about how I know the woman who designed the cute things I'm going to knit!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable! Any chance this pattern will be available in adult sizes? I'm already dreaming about this pattern done up in some "Three Irish Girls" yarn I've been eyeing!
ReplyDeleteI definitely have it on my to-do list :) can't say for sure when though :)
ReplyDeleteJust finished the sweater for our granddaughter, it was a little challenging (especially the pleats) but so worth it. She's 18 months old and refuses to take it off, sleeps with it like a blanket. I'm a little concerned, considering I'm $130+ into it, but guess it's worth it for her to enjoy it so much!
ReplyDeleteI need help on the collar says to cast on 55st in row 2 you double inc. 2x then say you sould have 51st. Am I not reading it right or is it a typo?
ReplyDeleteThere are two typos in the 18m, that first stitch count should be 59 and the following stitch count after Rows 5-12 should be 79. Thanks for finding them! and let me know if you need any more help :)
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely adorable! I'm in the middle of it now, but am having difficulty understanding the instructions where you join the sleeves. I'd really appreciate a little help in figuring this part out. jhorvath114@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteI'm working my way through this one at the moment... is there a typo on the arms? There's no purl stitches mentioned. I'm a very beginner knitter, so I'm finding this a challenge... but I'm almost there!
ReplyDeleteThe only purl stitches on the sleeves are for the cuff, the remainder of the sleeve is worked in the Round and so all the stitches are knit. Please email me at the email located on the bottom of the pattern if you have any more questions as I can help you more effectively that way :) thanks! xo Meghan
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable picture and looks quite hard to do - but I'm trying it.At the beginning for the size 2T it says to cast on 193 sts - but adding up the stitches in Row 3 and 4 they come to 197 sts....!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy, I just rechecked the math on that row and I still got 193, if you can email me at the address listed at the bottom of the pattern I can give you a breakdown of the stitches, thanks! xo Meghan
ReplyDeleteHI I am new to your site. I found you via jimmy Beans wool. LOVE LOVE your patterns. Feel in love with this pattern. I am going to start this pattern asap.....But I would love to buy a pattern for an adult of this sweater. Is this possible and you create one? Thank you, Kelly
ReplyDeleteHi, I am also new to your site, WOW I would LOVE this in an adult size, it is the cutest little jacket I have ever seen. I LOVE your site, absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Genius!! Creative, Talented. Thank you
ReplyDeleteLove, love the Petite Panache coat....can you tell me what yarn color you used? can't seem to find Andies room anywhere.
ReplyDeleteHi Mel in FL and Kelly, as of yet there is not an adult size pattern of this available. Perhaps sometime soon :)
ReplyDeleteThe colour used for this coat was called Andie's Room, looks like the colours were dyed exclusively for Jimmy Beans Wool and they are out of this colour as of right now when I looked.
